6th generation iPad mini (left) and iPhone 13 Pro Max (right). I compared two different categories
The 6th generation "iPad mini" released by Apple on September 24 has a presence that surpasses the iPhone 13. It is particularly impressive that it has a larger screen and is cheaper than the top model iPhone 13 Pro Max. There is a difference between the categories of smartphones and tablets, but I dared to compare them.
The iPad mini has a large screen and is cheap
First of all, the basic point is that the iPhone, which is a smartphone, has functions that tablets do not have, such as being able to make voice calls over a mobile phone line. Certainly. However, putting aside the phone for the time being and focusing on the use of iOS apps, it's hard to decide which is better.
The screen size is 6.7 inches for the iPhone 13 Pro Max and 8.3 inches for the iPad mini, and the iPad mini looks much larger due to the aspect ratio. However, for horizontal content such as videos, the iPhone can use the screen more effectively, so the difference between the two is surprisingly small.

When you hold it in your hand, the weight of the iPad mini feels lighter. In fact, the iPad mini should be 297g and about 60g heavier than the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which weighs 238g, but it is interesting that the iPad mini, which has a larger volume, feels relatively lighter.
There is a bigger difference in price, compared to the model with 256GB of storage, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is 146,800 yen (tax included), while the cellular version of the iPad mini is 95,800 yen, about 50,000 yen. is also cheap. This can be said to be a big attraction of the iPad mini.
